Prokat ("the platform") is a marketplace that connects lessors, who list items for rent, with renters, who book those items for specific dates. Prokat is not a party to the rental agreement between a renter and a lessor. The rental contract, including condition of the item, pickup, return, and any disputes, is between the renter and the lessor directly.
Renters pay lessors directly, using the payment link the lessor provides on their profile. Prokat never receives, holds, or has access to a renter's payment details or funds for a rental.
Prokat charges lessors a commission of 0% of the rent amount (excluding any security deposit) on each confirmed booking. The commission is deducted from the lessor's in-app balance at the moment a booking is confirmed. Prokat may set a different, temporary commission rate for a specific lessor (for example, as part of a promotion).
If a lessor's balance falls below €-1.00, new bookings for that lessor's items are paused until the balance is topped up. Bookings already confirmed are not affected.
A booking is held for the requester for 24 hours while payment is arranged. If the lessor does not confirm receipt of payment within that time, the booking expires automatically and the dates become available again. A lessor may also decline a booking before confirming it.
Lessors are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including the item's description, condition, and photos, and for having the right to rent out the item. Prokat may remove a listing or suspend a lessor's account for inaccurate, misleading, or prohibited listings.
Prokat provides the platform "as is" and is not liable for damage, loss, or disputes arising from a rental between a renter and a lessor. Users are responsible for resolving such matters between themselves.
